When pursuing a key goal, do you go in a straight line?

Unless you are climbing a rock face, the quickest path to a goal is usually a straight line. In business, we are often tempted to be diverted, waylaid, or distracted from pursuing our goals with single-minded intent. But every delay costs dme and money, and the quicker we reach an important goal, the sooner we reap the rewards of our achievement.

Start with an explicit statement of your mission and vision. When the purpose is clear and compelling, it's easier to stay focused on the goal. Next, develop an action plan that will help you accomplish your goals. Establish "mile markers" so you can gauge your progress. Then get busy! Once you are on track and moving, your success will be quick and sure.

Folly is joy to him who lacks sense, but a man of understanding walks straight (Proverbs 15:21).

Scripture: Asahel pursued Abner and did not turn to the right or to the left (2 Samuel 2:19).
