Are your sales efforts focused in the right direction?

When making sales calls, don't just run around trying to make the most contacts. Instead, take time to properly qualify your prospects and focus on calling the best ones. Just as a horse will slip and fall when galloping over rocks, you will stumble in your sales efforts if you run off without considering your path.

Before you pick up the phone or hit the streets, research your prospect's business and determine how your product best fits their needs. Call potential customers in advance to learn more about their needs, and establish a relationship with key contacts. Then carefully map out a territory and make your best presentation.

Choose your trails carefully and you will surely reach your destination. You wont slip as you spend your energy effectively obtaining new business.

So you will walk in the way of good men, and keep to the paths of the righteous (Proverbs 2:20).

Scripture: Do horses run on rocks? Or does one plow them with oxen? (Amos 6:12).
